History

Blum Electric was founded in 1972 by Josef Blum, Sr., using the values he gained as an electrician in Germany beginning in 1947. Sons Walter and John joined the company in 1979, followed by Josef, Jr. in 1985. The business incorporated and the name was changed the same year. Our distinctive and unyielding excellence comes from a family tradition built on Old World principles of quality. This translates into:

Blum and Sons Electric, Inc. serves the Santa Barbara and Ventura areas from our main office in Carpinteria, California. The Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo areas are serviced from our office in Santa Maria.

Our expert administrators support over fifty experienced field electricians in a tight-knit team. Robust communication systems interconnect field operators with team leaders and project data at all times. Software licensing is maintained for industry-standard packages, which allows us to coordinate with other project teams.
